Moving and Handling for Care Workers
This Moving and Handling for carers course provides your employees with the knowledge of how to assist people to move in a way that is safe and prevents injury. It follows guidance laid down by the Royal College of Nursing and is run by instructors certified by Institution of Occupational Health, IOSH.
Who needs this training?
This health and safety training is specifically targeted for carers and employees working in hospitals, care homes and client homes where assistance to move is needed; and applies to both the public and private sectors.
Why is this training important?
Carers who assist people are twice as likely to injure their backs through moving and handling activities in comparison to those in other types of employment. It is therefore essential that they use the correct health and safety techniques to protect themselves and those they care for.
